Nabuurs&VanDoorn

Berlin Displaced Legend 12, 2025, digital color photograph printed on Baryta 315 grams Cotton Rag, size variable

Nabuurs&VanDoorn is an artist duo whose practice moves between communal performance, conceptual photography, experimental cartography, and social choreography. Their ongoing project, Living Atlas, maps cities through self-devised color codes that transform walking, observation, and encounter into layered protocols balancing documentation and fiction.

Each city — Detroit, Milan, Amsterdam, Lisbon, and now Berlin — becomes both subject and collaborator, revealing political tensions, cultural intersections, and poetic undercurrents.

In Berlin, they will develop new work responding to the city’s transcultural identity, contested histories, and rapidly shifting urban fabric. Public space becomes their stage, where stories emerge through chance meetings, guided routes, and material traces.

The results take shape as images, texts, and spatial multimedia- installations that invite audiences to navigate Berlin through multiple — and often conflicting — perspectives. At Scope BLN, Nabuurs&VanDoorn will approach the city as a living archive: never fixed, always in flux, and open to being mapped through its interstices, its edges, and its unexpected portals.
